| To the left is Mr larry showing the height of the waterline inside the sheetmetal shop. Note the calendar to the right of him says August 2005. You can sort of see the dirt deposit line and the stained door. The yellow water cooler was at the back of the shop. Below is a tape measure showing the actual water height, at somewhere between 61 1/4 and 1/2 inches. You can also see from the glossy area on the door where the water stopped. Anything and everything spilled into the floodwaters and helped make stains. I know we had some of the adhesive glue in the water as the barrel toppled over and left a line of it everywhere it touched... it was a dark red, and it looked ominous. Some of it is still on things today. |

| To the left is the back area where the gluing and pinning is done. The table to the left was sitting on the other side of the room. It washed out the air filters that was in the triangular ventilator with the pipe. The louver( the grate looking thing near the middle of the picture) underneath that is the glue barrel which toppled over and spread red glue over everything it came across. It is interesting to note that about a month or so before the storm jumper cables were placed to the glue barrel and to the louver, as a safety requirement (having nothing to do | |||||||||||
| with any hurricane preparedness-it was still unheard of). The barrel was found, nearly empty of its contents, still attached to the cables and louver. Note the reddish ring on the wall behind the vent and louver. It is still there. For more pictures of shop and yard damage, click here to continue. Photos 1 3 4 HOME | |||||||||||
