I have always though these were some of the more telling photos of  what happened to the  shop in accurate  detail. These are the images that really stick with me the most. The table on the left  actually  floated up over the top of the other table. It was originally to the right,  about where the blue chair is. The   metal trash can was full of metal scraps and weighed at least 100 lbs, and was tossed around like it was nothing, and was sitting about 10 feet away. The tables are not light, either. There is another table even further back  that was sitting  next to that one.
This is the view from the back of the shop. Normally the floor is clear. There are several fiberglass insulation rolls tossed around that weighed  way more than usual because they soaked up a lot of water. Note the red tinged  striping on various things around the shop. The doors on the back wall are from left to right, storage, womans restroom(which had some art in it, and the door was so swollen we had to force it open days later!), mens restroom,  my husbands office, and the boss's office. Above the  offices and restrooms is a loft, which didn't get damaged, thankfully. I also think it was a refuge for our beloved shopcat, Pearl.  Had we known  the storm was going to flood, we would have brought her home, but she was probably better off in the loft. She greeted us like a champ when we went  to the shop when these photos were taken.
Here are some more photos of the yard and shop area from the outside.  At left, this is the  boss's boat, at an angle because it floated  on top of the forklift. It was in the stall  to the right in the photo, next to the building.  It was repaired and recently went on a fishing trip.  The bottom left shows  the yard in front. The water washed the towing trailer  in front of the rolling door and washed the blue boat completely off the trailer. Behind the boat, not  able to be seen in the photo, was a huge tool box loaded with tools, washed up against the fence.  There were all kinds of tools and bits of everything lodged in the fence. There were even  things that washed  across the road that we retrieved months later. The truck in the photo below was brand new- and ruined. The Bobcat made it, though, and is working today! :)
The photo at right shows the main office building, which had water all the way to the cieling. On the back door was a note with everyones name, and  whether they were alive or not.(We all made it!)   1     2      4      HOME
