   Typical Saywardist Style
During an interview with the Editor of the Bay Press,  I was asked what style my paintings were. It is as true now as it was then, that  although influenced by several artists,  the different styles that influenced me and the end results  all tended  to 'overlap' , not being any one 'style'.  They are from my mind, and painted by my hand, so they are 'Saywardist'. The name and the style  caught on,  and  was even highlighted  in the title line  of my article in the Sun Herald announcing my exhibit 'Colors of a Non Typical Existance' held in November 2004 in Biloxi.
Although most of my earliest works  are impressionist in nature, the 'Saywardist'  style has been by far the most popular. If I was lucky enough to  ask my patrons why they liked it so much,  the always said without blinking, "Because it's different."  and "Because they are so colorful!"
The Hunt, 48x36 acrylic on linen mounted on hardboard This painting came to me in a dream. I grow plants very similar to these in my greenhouse, although they aren't blue! I imagined a blue forest with a dark purple jaguar slowly moving through it. The title  could be open to interpretation. 'The Hunt' could mean  the big cat is hunting for food, or is he being hunted himself?  I always like to know he  got away. This painting was also in my home during the storm and was not damaged. Black painted edges, looks nice unframed.
Both are original . Signed on the front  and on the back. Painted 2004.
