More Cats

My, how Artists love their animal companions!!!!!!!

My cat, Chewey, recently passed away, but I have  some of her children to help me cope. This is Khaki  and his  sister, Vonnie,who looks like Chewey, but with white. I may keep her. Chewey was spayed about a month before her accident, which really sucks because she was just getting healthy  and seeing what life was  really like. Khaki is from an earlier litter, he's not some huge mutant.

This is the whole Brood. We always called Chewey's litters 'Broods'.  She had three kittens  in one brood, and I had all of these and her as well at my former studio before Katrina.  That was a very nice arrangement.

This is a picture of Cleodis,Stormy and their mother, Chewey. As you can see they all had a pretty tight bond. Even when her kids were full grown as here, Chew would groom them, and sometimes, as Khaki and his sister, they will groom each other as well.  (Khaki,Stormy and Cleodis are all siblings)   Cleo, left,  looks almost identical to our landlords' cat, Tom.(I'm 99.9 % sure he's the dad!)  He even has a bowl  for  them that says 'Tom and Son'.    I always brought Chewey inside  and was usually with her during all of her births, it was a very interesting experience for all.She  seemed to have the ability to produce some of the cutest kittens with beautiful markings.    However, cats multiply like crazy once mature  and you will quickly find youself overloaded with kittens, and, I can tell you firsthand, the are very hard to find good homes for. I do believe there are some serious sickos out there. (Chewey came home one day with a pellet gun hole in her side- she recovered nicely.) So, on the verge of getting preachy--sorry ;P  I wholeheartedly advocate 'fixing' your pets, and keeping them inside, if possible--you'll worry less. It doesn't alter their personality in a bad way- they don't feel 'less' of a man or anything-  they actually are nicer and healthier because all of their energy is not put into tracking mates/pregnancy/stress of all that.      Links:  THE BEECE        HOME             PEARL
