Art FX Gallery, Gulfport
Curators Marty Wilson, Jaqueline Wilson
I owe Jaqueline  credit  for helping launch my art career. I had been painting and painting for years but had never shown anything to anyone other than friends and family.  I  was in the gallery  and she asked if she  could help us find anything, and my husband said, "Oh, she's an artist!" I wanted to disappear, being quite unprepared in what to say or do next,  and she asked, "What kind of work do you do?" Again I was unprepared. She could  see I was nervous and  said, "Well, bring some paintings and let me see what you have." I brought a box and she picked out four that she wanted to hang in her gallery, and I was on cloud nine, and it gave me the confidence I needed to make more  gallery inquiries.
13th Street Gallery , Gulfport.
Curators  Rhonda Anne Herring and Cecily Anan Cummings
Several exhibitions rotated around month by month, gallery moved from this location, and Katrina halted the opening of the new one. The old gallery was extensively damaged from the hurricane.
Da Beach House,  Bay St Louis.
Curators Todd and Colleen Reid
Absolutely destroyed during Katrina.
While this was not soley an art gallery in  the true sense of the word, Da Beach House was a fun filled place that had a heavy emphasis on  local art and supporting the local artists by giving them a show. They also rented kayaks and sold healthy food and smoothies (they were the best, made from all real fruits and vegetables, right before your eyes!)  I did very very well over there, and this was the only gallery where I lost work because of Katrina.  See my Da Beach House page here.
Negrotto's Gallery, Biloxi       see photos of  the April 27  show!!!
Curators  Butch and Romy Simpson
I am currently  showing there. Very nice and supportive people. A very active and community minded gallery.  I  have some of my new work there, and it's doing well.  Butch is a certified picture framer  and  can do custom  framing and matting. Highly recommended. Local, national and international artists.
