| Da Beach House was a special place that was a very popular stop in Bay St Louis. It was right on the beach, with a very high elevation. (About 25 or so feet above the beach!) They had a jungle theme going, and had banana trees and bamboo accents everywhere-very tropical. They rented kayaks and had drum circles, and usually greeted me with "Aloha!" They also served coffee and smoothies, with all natural ingredients, right before your eyes, and the staff were very helpful and friendly. I showed my art there and sold a good bit of it. I actually had very little to bring home with me after my first showing. I took another lot of paintings over there, and, unfortunately, Katrina absolutely destroyed it. I haven't seen it personally yet, but I bumped into the owners and they said it was gone. New Photos!! |

| This is an actual phone book ad for Da Beach House in an old phone book I still had laying around. It has their menu and what they had to offer. The little drawing at the top is cartoonish, but looks very similar to the real thing. | |||||||||||||||||
| Da Beach House was the only gallery I lost work at during Katrina. Approximately 55 original works washed out to sea, possibly never to be seen again. I did, however, take photos of these and will post them here soon. I have always thought it would be interesting to know if anyone had found one. I am sure they didn't have a very long life in the water; it's depressing, but maybe the sea life is enjoying them! The loss of this place is a serious loss to Bay St Louis! | |||||||||||||||||

| This was an ad in the Sea Coast Echo for my show at Da Beach House. This photo is in black and white but this cub was turquoise with purple spots. The caption gives the address and phone number of the now gone landmark. I went and met a lot of people and had all the coffee I wanted. It was great, because I love talking to people and drinking coffee.:) The owner, Colleen, loved this painting so much that she bought this one for herself. I was very happy that he found a good home. Unfortunately, they lost their home as well as their business, so I assume this painting has been destroyed. |
