At left,  the boardroom window that is at  the main office. This window has a beautiful view out over Turkey Creek, and was boarded up for Dennis, and was left up  after the threat 'just in case'.  The water rushed through and completely obliterated the glass. This was taken when we were cleaning up, appearantly, as the carpet has been removed. To see a photo  at present, click here.
This is an interesting photo-  this is of a milk crate that wasjed up to some support beams  at Mr Glenn's storage building. It appearantly came to a soft rest among the beams as the water settled back down. My husband is holding a tape to it, and as you can see it is taller than he is! You can also see the water marks on the siding in the picture,  even higher than the tape measure.  This building was not elevated, and was thoroughly washed through. I helped clean out this building, there was not much salvageable, unfortunately.

To the left is the old trailer truck, which went under water and was beginning to get a good rust going when this picture was taken. It went completely  under water and was corroding. The shipment on the back and to the  right of it- several thousand dollars worth -became worthless instantly. Note the rusticules on them.
Cleaning up!  Every surface that was damaged by the floodwater had to be stripped out, right down to the studs, and they had to be sprayed with  an antibacterial agent to kill the mold and to keep it from spreading. All carpets, sheetrock, panels and insulation  had to be replaced in all of  the  buildings. It was very interesting  being able to 'walk through walls'  and talk  through them, too. It is a long, laboriuos process from start to finish.
Everyone was back to work within two weeks of Katrina, cleaning up, sorting out,  doing their part.
